   A graduate of John W. North High School in Riverside and Long Beach State University, Kennedy was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2001 where he played four years of professional baseball.
   Kennedy, who grew up a coach's son, played at Long Beach State for legendary coach Dave Snow. The original  "Dirt Bag" at Long Beach State, Snow compiled a .638 winning percentage en route to four College World Series appearances.
